What is Clinical Research?

Clinical research scientifically investigates new drugs and modalities in human participants to prevent or treat human diseases. Multiple research sites throughout the United States (and sometimes throughout other countries) are often used to conduct clinical studies, also called clinical trials.

What Happens if I Decide to Participate?

Prior to entering a medical study, you will be given an informed consent to read. This will contain information about the study, including the purpose of the study, how the study drug will be administered (taken by mouth, applied on skin, etc.), the length of the study, the number of visits and types of procedures required, the potential risks and benefits, and contact information.
